    Re: Russia Project

Hi Jacob. Some of schools in our country have 2 shifts-the first starts at 8.30 ends at 2 p.m. Second shift starts at 2 p.m. ends at 6 or 7 p.m. in the evening. We end to study in about 25th of May. Before this we pass final tests (ordinary in last months we have wery few lessons), Graduates pass the Unated-State-Exams all of June and have action called Prom in the end of June as you have. They have unated school action called Last Call (of the bell the symbol of beginning of education) in the end of May. After that they have two months of summer to rest and apply to college.

Saturday and we have raised four holidays: fall (first week of November), winter (the first 10 days of January), spring (last week of March) and summer (June, July and August). On September begins a new academic year.

    Re: Russia Project

We have 5-mark system (from one to five)

We have vacations four time a year: Winter Vacation (10 days), Fall vacations (7 days), Spring (10 days), Summer (3 month)

We also have a small vacations for holidays (festivals): usually two or three days.

At place where I live (it called Siberia) we also have unformal vacations - we call it "the cancels". It means that we don't go to school, because it's too cold for studying. I'm in class 8th and we won't go to school if the temperature is lower than 35 degrees below zero. Unfortunately, this winter we don't have more cancels - it wasn't so much cold

    Hope that help:)

    Russia Project

Please answer my questions about being/living in Russia:

How long do you go to school?  Are you able to drop out at a certain age? How many grades are there? How are your assignments graded? How much vacation time do you get for holidays?
